Problem

Due to a steep slope, the weight of vehicles entering and exiting the site, plus the weather becoming more inclement, the site was becoming inaccessible for the 30 tonne tippers that required regular site access.

Solution

Zigma Ground Solutions provided the site with 40 TuffTrak heavy duty ground protection mats. The 2.5m x 3m TuffTrak were installed by Zigma Ground Solutions within 6 hours and provided a 100m long by 3m wide access route for the 30 tonne tippers. The TuffTrak mats unique Chevron Traction system gave excellent purchase to all passing vehicles. In addition, the TuffTrak also provided covering for three root protection areas along the route ensuring the protection of the trees and grounds around them.
Verdict

TuffTrak provided a secure, stable, temporary roadway. It provided excellent traction on a site with poor inaccessible ground conditions to all passing traffic. Plus, the tree root protection areas were protected with no damage to the trees or roots.
