Children in Need, the very high profile charity sponsored by the BBC, organises charity fund raising events around the UK in which they try to provide sponsors unique and interesting venues and events.
Chris Evans of Radio 2 approached Zigma to assist in staging a high profile fund raising event in the New Forest at the 5 star Chewton Glenn Golf and Spa Resort. This event was to display 7 Classic Ferraris on the croquet lawn at the resort. The event could only take place if there was assurance the beautiful and expensive croquet lawn would not be damaged.

Zigma agreed to deliver and supply at no cost the temporary ground protection and access, deploying one of Zigma’s flag ship products, the Euromat. The Euromats were used to move the Ferraris onto the croquet lawn and to protect the lawn using them for the display area. The simple connection system make the mats easy and quick to install. The unique chevron surface design of the Euromat, which is pedestrian friendly as well as efficient for keeping vehicles from slipping off, also allows grass to breathe under the mats, reducing grass damage from the sun.
The Ferraris were displayed for two days and the Euromats were down for nearly a week with the Euromats preventing any damage to the croquet lawn from either the movement of the cars and hundreds of guests and sponsors or by the very hot weather.

Both Chris Evans and Radio2, and just as importantly, the management of Chewton Glenn, were extremely pleased at the happy outcome of both the charity event and the fact that play on the croquet lawn was able to resume straight after the event.
